Position of Task Force

The Task Force Sustainable Soy dedicates itself to the cause of ecologically and socially responsible soy cultivation. It therefore supports the Round Table on Responsible Soy, a platform within which principles, criteria and indicators for sustainable soy are developed jointly by all the links involved in the product chain and societal organizations at an international level. The Task Force believes that an international approach focused on increasing the sustainability of the regular bulk stream of soy would be the most effective. The fact is that it is important to develop criteria for sustainability that can count on international support, both the in the countries that produce soy and those that import it. And Solidaridad, the World Wide Fund for Nature and the World Conservation Union IUCN support such an approach. The Task Force is a proponent of the current Amazon Moratorium that is being applied in order to achieve responsible land use in the Amazon biome.
