Export

Both Brazil and Argentina export a large proportion of their production to Europe, which does not apply to the USA to the same extent. Exports to China from all three countries are on the increase.

Brazilian soy export

  • In 10 years the export of Brazilian soy has almost doubled, from 18 to 32 million tonnes.
  • The percentage of Brazil’s export of soy to the EU has decreased since 1999, from 77% to 50%. This can be ascribed to the increased demand from China.
  • Currently, 30% of Brazil’s soy export goes to China.
