• In Argentina and Brazil the production of soybeans increased about 50% in the last 10 years.
• The joint share of Brazil and Argentina in the global production of soy is larger than that of the USA.

 
  

Soy area development

• In the last few years, the area used in the USA for soy cultivation has remained virtually the same.
• In the last 10 years, the area used in Brazil for soy cultivation has increased from circa 14 to 22 million hectares (ha).
• The amount of land used in Argentina for soy cultivation has increased from circa 9 to 17 million ha.
