Round Table on Responsible Soy
The Round Table on Responsible Soy (RTRS) is an international platform in which soy producers, soy merchants, the soy processing industry, banks and societal organizations are collaborating in order to establish and implement in practice sustainability criteria for the worldwide cultivation of soy. In the May 2007 RTRS general meeting it was agreed that the following social and environmental themes should be laid down for the cultivation of soy: 
 
  • Employees’ rights
  • Land rights
  • Respect for small-scale and traditional land use
  • Well-being of local population
  • Protection of biodiversity
  • Water use
  • Soil fertility
  • Use of pesticides
  • Impact on infrastructure
